The method involves the use of multiple databases containing pricing information; audience information, and advertisement information. An advertiser pricing information from a first database, identifies a target audience using information in a second database, defines the characteristics of the advertisement using information in a third database, and calculates a price for the advertisement based on the target audience and the characteristics of the advertisement. A method for allocating the time and day an advertisement appears based on an auction system is also disclosed.

    • A front assembly for a color cathode ray tube is disclosed that as having improved means for mounting components for electrical interconnection and magnetic shielding. The assembly comprises a faceplate having on its inner surface a centrally disposed, electrically conductive phosphor screen. A peripheral sealing area is located on the inner surface of the faceplate for receiving a funnel, and the funnel has an internal electrically conductive funnel coating adapted to receive a high electrical potential. A metallic shadow mask support structure is secured to the inner surface of the faceplate between the screen and the peripheral sealing area, and encloses the screen and is in contact with the screen. The structure supports in electrical union therewith a tensed foil shadow mask. The structure has a side adjacent to the sealing area essentially perpendicular to the screen which has secured thereto by weldments an internal magnetic shield. The assembly includes an electrical conductor located in an opening in the shield and in contact with the internal conductive coating of the funnel, whereby a high voltage connection is formed between the funnel coating, the screen and the mask.

    • A tensed mask cathode ray tube has a support frame supporting a tensed mask adjacent to a flat or cylindrical panel wholly within the tube. The support frame includes an outer flange, a shelf extending radially inwardly from the flange and providing a support surface for the tensed mask, and an elongated skirt directed rearwardly from the shelf and adapted to join to the remainder of the CRT. The support frame forms a major part of the CRT envelope and includes strengthening ribs extending from the outer flange to the elongated skirt. The support frame resists deformation by tensile forces exerted by the tensed mask and discontinuity stresses imposed by the flat panel upon tube evacuation. The Q-distance between the mask support surface and the inner surface of the flat panel is determined by the support surface being offset from the seal surface.

In an embodiment, the present invention compresses three dimensional geometry by (1) extracting at least one primitive from the three dimensional geometry, where each extracted primitive includes vertices and property indices that associate properties with the vertices; (2) quantizing, for each extracted primitive, the properties to a fixed grid; (3) converting, for each extracted primitive, the properties from a first data type to a second data type; and (4) encoding property indices, where the encoded property indices and quantized and converted properties are transmitted via a communication network in order to display the three dimensional geometry.

    • The novel card game employs a deck of cards with two or more suits and each suit having cards consecutively numbered starting from zero. The players select how many suits they will hold in, their hand and the number of cards from each suit. The cards are then dealt and each player, in order, places a card face up in the middle between the players. Each consecutive player then places a higher numbered card in the middle of the table until one player has no cards or until no cards can be played by any of the players. A winner is then declared based on the player who has no cards or the player with the lowest total value of face cards in his hand.

    • Improved bonding in a cathode ray tube (CRT) between its glass funnel and glass faceplate is achieved by applying a thin base layer of a priming agent to an aft portion of the faceplate adjacent to the periphery thereof as well as to the forward edge of the funnel prior to positioning of the CRT components in contact. An intermediate layer of sealing glass frit is then deposited upon either of the aforementioned layers of the priming agent and adheres to the two priming agent layers without forming a re-entrant geometry. By "priming" the two abutting glass surfaces over an area which extends beyond the area of high loading with the priming agent prior to joining these surfaces, bond integrity is ensured and high stress concentration in the seal is avoided. The sealing glass frit may be comprised of a conventional glass cement paste and is also used as the priming agent in a preferred embodiment. The improved bonding method may also be used to bond a shadow mask support structure to the faceplate's inner surface or other CRT components to each other. Improved CRT components and assemblies made by the disclosed method are also disclosed.

A shadow mask support structure is provided for securing a shadow mask in tension on the structure and spacing the shadow mask from the screen. The support structure includes an undulated strip defining a bottom sinuous edge for securing the support structure to the faceplate and a top sinuous edge for securing the shadow mask to the support structure. A cap may be provided for securement to the top sinuous edge of the undulated strip to provide a land for securing the shadow mask to the support structure.
