    • A hollow multi-layered container comprises: an outer layer including a label and an inner layer, which is injection molded. The label has a barrier material that impedes one or more substances that emanate from a product from penetrating through the label, and the label displays information related to the product. The inner layer and the barrier material of the outer layer are substantially coextensive. For a container having a sidewall and an inclined shoulder extending inward from the sidewall, the label includes a primary segment covering the sidewall of the container and a plurality of shoulder pads covering the shoulder in at least approximately contiguous alignment with adjacent said shoulder pads. A method of inserting an in-mold label for an injection molded product into the mold, comprises the steps of: (a) inserting the label partially into a cavity bounded by a cavity mold part so that one end of the label extends from the cavity; and (b) upon closing the mold, pushing the label fully into the cavity by pushing against the label with a mold part that is moved toward the cavity when the mold is closed so that when the label is fully within the cavity, the lateral edges of the label are aligned with each other.

    • A hollow plastic product with a substantially tubular section, two open ends and a thread at the outside of one end of the product is removed from a core mold part by closing the threaded end of the molded product and injecting compressed air into the molded product to loosen the molded product from the core mold part. The threaded end of the product is closed by attaching a threaded closure having a matching thread onto the threaded end of the molded product. A robotic arm is used to robotically attach the threaded closure onto the threaded end of the product. The threaded closure is a plastic cap that injection molded in the injection molding system in which the product is injection molded, with the caps being injection molded at the same average rate as the products are injection molded.

    • Articles, such as components of an injection-molded multi-component product, are repositioned within a space, such as the space between mold parts, that is accessible for repositioning only during a series of periods, such as open-mold periods, that are separated by intervals of less accessibility for repositioning, such as closed-mold intervals by (a) moving a first article, such as a first component of a first multi-component product, from a first position within the space to outside of the space during a first such period; and (b) moving a second identical article, such as a first component of a second multi-component, from outside of the space to a second position within the space during the first such period. Both the movement of the first article and the movement of the second article are by means of a common vehicle, such as a common robot arm. In another aspect, an article is repositioned by (a) moving the article from a first position within the space to outside of the space during a first such period; and (b) during a second such period after an interval of less accessibility that is subsequent to the first period, moving the article from outside of the space to a second position within the space. For injection molding with a stack mold, an article is repositioned from a first mold-cavity in a first space in a first portion of the stack mold to a second mold-cavity position in a second space in a second portion of the stack mold by (a) moving the article from the first position to outside of the first and second spaces during a period when the first space is accessible and the second space is inaccessible; and (b) moving the article from outside of the spaces to the second position when the second space is accessible and the first space is inaccessible.

    • A hollow plastic product with a substantially tubular section, two open ends and a thread at the outside of one end of the product is manufactured by injection molding a plastic product with a substantially tubular section, an open end, a closed end and a thread at the outside of the closed end. An inner core of the core mold part is retracted from within the end of the mold cavity in which the thread is formed so that when the molded product is removed from the cavity mold part, the neck is compressed to partially occupy the region vacated upon removal of the inner core, whereby the thread is removed without damaging the thread. Removal of the molded product from the core mold part is at least helped by injecting compressed air into the closed end of the product. The closed end is then opened.
