摘要： Described is a catheter which includes a reinforced polymer shaft. The polymer includes nano particles having a dimension of less than about 6 nm. Described is also a method of forming a medical device. Granules of a selected polymer are prepared. Reinforced granules of the selected polymer are prepared. The reinforced granules include nano particles. The granules and the reinforced granules are then mixed in a ratio selected to obtain a desired concentration of the nano particles. The granules and the reinforced granules are extruded to form a substantially tubular element.

摘要： Devices and methods for obtaining high flow rates in a port catheter system, and devices and methods for using a high flow rate port catheter system are disclosed. In one embodiment, a reservoir is dedicated for aspiration and a separate reservoir is dedicated for infusion. Fluid flow channels associated with aspiration are larger than the fluid flow channels associated with infusion. The catheter connected to the port can have an offset tip configuration. Methods for accessing the port are also disclosed.

摘要： A vascular access catheter is disclosed that has a catheter shaft with a distal end portion with a distal tip having a sloped face that is positioned at an acute angle from the distal tip relative to a longitudinal axis of the catheter shaft. A first, second, and third lumen extend longitudinally through the catheter shaft. The third lumen is configured for receiving a guidewire and may extend a partial length of the catheter or substantially the entire length of the catheter. The first lumen has an aperture located in the angled edge distal end portion of the catheter next to the distal tip and communicates with the first lumen. The second lumen has an aperture that is positioned in the outer surface of the catheter shaft that is in communication with the second lumen, and is spaced proximally from the first lumen aperture. The catheter includes a fluoropolymer additive with specific compositions and/or purity levels.

摘要： A catheter that comprises a hub, an elongated conduit, and at least one lumen therein. The lumen includes a proximal lumen section, a distal lumen section, and an intermediate lumen section extending between the proximal and distal lumen sections. The cross-sectional dimension of the intermediate lumen section is less than the cross-sectional dimension of the distal lumen section. In one embodiment, the cross-sectional dimension of the intermediate lumen section is less than the cross-sectional dimension of the proximal lumen section.
