    • A system for monitoring traffic across a structure. A fiber Bragg grating (FBG) reflects a light wavelength. A mounting mechanism connects the FBG to the structure, such that physical change of the structure changes a stress to the FBG that changes the light wavelength. And optical fiber carries a first light beam to the FBG and carries a second light beam from the FGB. This permits first light beam including the light wavelength to be received from a light source, and permits the first light beam to be altered into the second light beam by passing the light wavelength through the FBG, and permits the second light beam to be provided to a detector to sense the light wavelength present in the second light beam. From this the stress in the structure and information about the traffic across a structure can be inferred.

    • A measurement system including a machine tool stage having a first piece and a second piece that are movable with respect to one another. A digital scale is integrated in the first piece and a detector is integrated in the second piece at a position suitable to detect movement with respect to the digital scale. The detector creates a signal based upon relative movement between the digital scale and the detector. A display integrated in the second piece receives the signal from the detector and displays a reading of the relative movement thus measured.

    • A plumbing device for a basin drainage includes a pushbutton, a spring, a positioning sleeve, a probe and a seal that is connected to the probe. The pushbutton is able to control the movement of the seal to selectively communicate the inlet and the valve receiving channel. A moving chamber is movably received in the pressure chamber to control the communication between the pressure release path and the passage of the cap. The accumulated pressure in the pressure chamber is able to be released by pushing the pushbutton so as to generate a large force into the drainage with the suction cup securely engaged with the periphery of the drainage.

    • The improved structure for the external cap of a spout used in waterbeds has a cap body with a slot opening, and two flanges with punched holes extending from the edge of said external cap. The two supporting legs of a hand grip can feed through the punched holes of the flanges and move freely. The user can pull up the hand grip to rotate the external cap body in order to open or close said external cap. The horizontal portion of said hand grip has a T-shaped sectional surface which can be partially adapted into the slot; the bottom end portions of the supporting legs have inverted hooks on both sides to avoid the hand grip from disengaging with the external cap.
