摘要： Described is an apparatus for releasably coupling an electrical component to a circuit board comprising a frame and at least one tab. The frame releasably couples to the electrical component and circumscribes at least a portion of a perimeter of the electrical component when coupled thereto. The at least one tab mates with a tab receiving slot in the circuit board to releasably couple the frame to the circuit board. When the electrical component is coupled to the frame, a portion of the electrical component opposite the circuit board is exposed.

The housing includes at least one heat generating electric component mounted within an interior space thereof. The chimney extends from a proximal end surrounding a space adjacent to the at least one component through an opening in the housing to a distal end outside the housing. The heat dissipation element is attached to the distal end of the chimney and separated from the housing so that heat from the at least one component travels through the chimney to the heat dissipation element from which it is dissipated.

摘要： A method and system for connecting a user identification module to a wireless host device are described. The user identification module is inserted in an accessory card that fits in the host device, and includes a radio transreceiver to connect to a wireless network. When the accessory card is placed in the host device, a mating surface of the host device blocks removal of the user identification module from the accessory card. The accessory card may be connected to the host device by inserting in a slot of the host device an edge of the accessory card from which extends an interface.

Further described is a system including a network device operating at a first power setting, the network device increases a power requirement, a power source providing an amount of power to the network device at a second power setting, the second power setting being greater than the first power setting, and a server determining whether one or more resources of the network device is operable at the second power setting, wherein the network device operates the at the second power setting if the one or more resources is operable, and the network device activates an alert if the one or more resources is not operable.

摘要： A bar code reader has an integrated scanning component module which is mountable on a printed circuit board. In one embodiment, the module may include the digitizer/decoder electronics, enabling the module to be used with a generic PCB. In some embodiments, the module includes a high speed optical scanning arrangement having an optical element which extends longitudinally of a flexible member, secured at one end. In other embodiments, the invention extends to a hand-held optical scanner having a scanning assembly, detector and data transmission coupling all mounted to a common printed circuit board, preferably located within a manually-graspable handle. In yet a further embodiment, an abuse-detector or accelerometer is provided for determining when the device is exposed to deceleration above a predetermined limit, and optionally for automatically shutting down applications programs and for providing a black-box-record of a short time frame before the device was exposed to an unexpected shock. Preferably, the reader is shock protected by a thermo-plastic elastomer housing section. An outgoing light beam is directed at a non-orthogonal angle relative to the PCB.

The arrangement comprises an electronic device enclosure including a heat transfer device (“HTD”) forming part of a wall thereof.
