    • An integrated multifunctional valve device includes a surface member having a first port and a second port formed therein, a flexible disk member having a central portion and a surrounding portion, a first seat member extending outward from the surface member and coupled to the surrounding portion of the flexible disk member, a second seat member extending outward from the surface member and surrounded by the first seat member. The central portion is movable between an open port position to establish fluid communication between the respective ports and a close port position to stop the fluid communication between the respective ports. The second seat member is configured to selectively receive the central portion of the flexible disk member corresponding to the close port position. The integrated multifunctional valve device also includes an actuator member configured to selectively move the central portion of the flexible disk member into the open port position and the close port position.

The fluid container includes a housing unit, a free-fluid chamber disposed in the housing unit and configured to store fluid, and a regulated chamber disposed in the housing unit.     • Disclosed is a novel inkjet print cartridge (pen) in which a body of polyurethane foam is inserted into an ink chamber of the pen for ink containment and backpressure. The ink chamber has a tall narrow aspect ratio. The body of polyurethane foam is felted in the width direction of the pen to have a width less than 20% of its pre-felted width. After felting, the body of foam is cut to have a "near net size" as the interior volume of the ink chamber. Specifically, the pre-insertion volume is less than about 130% of the interior volume of the ink chamber. The substantial felting in the width direction provides sufficient stiffness to the foam that it can be inserted into the tall, narrow aspect ratio ink chamber.

    • A wide-array inkjet printhead assembly with die carriers includes a backbone which delivers fluid through a manifold with a number of openings. The openings are spaced apart according to a opening pitch. A plurality of inkjet die includes trenches with a trench pitch which is smaller than the opening pitch. A plurality of die carriers include a plurality of oblique tapered channels, with one end of the oblique tapered channels having pitch matching the opening pitch and interfacing with the backbone and the opposite end of the oblique tapered channels having a pitch matching the trench pitch and interfacing with the inkjet die. A method for assembling a wide-array inkjet printhead assembly is also described.
