摘要： Methods and apparatus for workload feedback mechanisms facilitating a closed loop architecture. Platform telemetry data is collected from a server platform including one or more hardware components and running one or more virtual network functions (VNFs). A workload performance associated one or more VNFs or one or more applications associated with the one or more VNFs is monitored to detect whether the performance of a VNF or application fails to meet a performance criteria, such as a Service Level Agreement (SLA) metric, and corresponding performance indicia is generated by the VNF. Based on the platform telemetry data and the performance indicia, an operational configuration of one of more of the hardware components is adjusted to increase the workload performance to meet or exceed the performance criteria. The apparatus may comprise a system employing distributed processing including the server platform hosting telemetry collection and VNF(s), an analytics system to analyze the platform telemetry data and performance indicia, and a management component (e.g., MANO) to adjust the configuration of the one or more hardware components.

摘要： A shutter is designed for use with an optic fibre which is designed to emit rays in a cone in a selected viewing direction. A mount carries the optic fibre to emit such cone. Associated with the mount is structure for rotatably mounting the shutter, or rotor to rotate between ON and OFF positions. The shutter is shaped to provide a panel which blocks the cone in the viewing direction in the OFF position. The shutter is shaped to define, in an ON position, a central opening for passage of the cone of light in the viewing direction. Rotation between ON and the OFF positions is about 90.degree.. An Electromagnetic drive is used to drive the shutter between the ON and OFF positions. The fibre is centrally located relative to the fibre mount. A plurality of shutters, each with its own drive may be arranged in line, in a single strip module.

摘要： Methods and apparatus for arbitration and access to hardware request ring structures in a concurrent environment. A request ring mechanism is provided including an arbiter, ring overflow guard, request ring, and request ring metadata, each of which is implemented in shared virtual memory (SVM) on a computing platform including a multi-core processor coupled to an offload device having one or more SVM-capable accelerators. Worker threads request to access the request ring to provide job descriptors to be processed by the accelerator(s). A lockless arbiter returns either an index of a slot in which to write a descriptor or information indicating the ring is full to each worker thread. The scheme enables worker threads to write descriptors to slots in the request ring corresponding to the returned indexes without contention from other worker threads. The ring overflow guard prevents valid descriptors from being overwritten before they are taken off the ring by the accelerator(s). The request ring metadata is used indicate a valid/invalid status of the ring entries.
