    • The invention relates to a non return valve for an airbag of a vehicle passenger retention system, which is provided with a connection hose between two chambers of the airbag, wherein in the connector hose a fabric inlay is accommodated. The fabric inlay subdivides the connection hose into a flow passage between the first and the second chamber and a pressure chamber which is in connection with the second chamber. As soon as the internal pressure in the first chamber is greater than that in the second chamber the fabric inlay opens the flow passage. If on the contrary the internal pressure in the second chamber is greater than that in the first chamber the fabric inlay closes off the flow passage by means of the internal pressure which acts in the pressure chamber.

    • A vehicle has an airbag arrangement, which has an airbag module mounted to or integrated with the vehicle door. The module has a housing in which at least one inflatable airbag stored in the module in a folded state. The housing has an elongated outlet opening that extends substantially the entire length of the inflated airbag, and a support section that supports and braces the airbag, in the inflated state, under pressure against the support section so that the airbag becomes self-supporting. The inner peripheral region of the outlet opening can form the support section. Alternatively, the inner peripheral region of an outlet opening formed in a door panel can form the support section. The self-supporting air bag is particularly applicable for a convertible or topless vehicle.

    • An inflatable airbag for a motor vehicle is provided. The airbag includes a main chamber configured to be connected to a gas generator. The airbag is arranged so that when the airbag is inflated at least a portion of the main chamber covers a side wall of the vehicle. The airbag may further include an additional airbag region configured to form an approximately spherically shaped chamber when inflated. The spherically shaped chamber may be configured to be inflated via the main chamber. The spherical chamber provides for an advantageous shortening of the airbag when the airbag is inflated when compared to the dimensions of the airbag in its spread out or uninflated state.
