    • An anatomical model assembly of the human head for use in teaching medical personnel. The anatomical model has an inner base that is shaped as part of the human skull. A first layer of material covers the base. The first layer of material provides a visual indication of at least some muscle groups contained within a human head. A second layer of material is provided that covers the first layer. The second layer of material has an exterior that is shaped with at least some human facial features. The second layer of material and the first layer of material are separate, unattached layers. The material selected for the first layer mimics the suppleness of muscle. The material selected for the top second layer mimics the feel and elasticity of skin. The result is an anatomical model that can be used to accurately teach, plan and practice medical procedures.

    • A surgical drain tube assembly and its associated method of manufacture. The drain tube assembly has an extruded intake tube that defines multiple internal conduits. The intake tube has a first end and an opposite second end. The internal conduits run between the first end and the second end. The extruded intake tube contains multiple slices that run from the first end to a termination point. Each of the slices communicates with a different one of the internal conduits inside the intake tube. The internal conduits are therefore transformed into open grooves that are capable of draining fluids at any point along their lengths. The extruded intake tube can also be cut into separate arms that converge at the termination point. The intake tube is coupled to a single conduit collection tube that draws fluid from all the conduits of the intake tube.

    • A system and method of topically applying an anesthetic, or other medication, to one or both lips of the mouth. An applicator device is provided that has a curved first wall, a curved second wall, and a horizontal shelf that joins the first wall to the second wall. The first wall, the second wall and the horizontal shelf combine to define either one or two curved lip compartments. A volume of the anesthetic, or other medication, is placed within the curved lip compartments. The applicator device is partially placed in a person's mouth so that the second wall is positioned between the back of the lips and in front of the teeth. While in this position, the lip of the user passes into the curved lip compartment and is contacted by the anesthetic.
