    • A signal processing apparatus includes a first loop circuit for adjusting gains of a plurality of variable gain amplifiers to which signals output from a charge-coupled device (CCD) imager of multiple-channel reading type are applied, a control circuit for driving and controlling an iris in accordance with output signals from the plurality of variable gain amplifiers, a second loop circuit for adjusting levels of pilot signals to be superimposed upon the output signals of the CCD imager at a desired level, respectively, a third loop circuit for controlling levels of the pilot signals which are superimposed upon the output signals of the CCD imager so as to be coincident with each other, and a control unit for controlling the first loop circuit and the control circuit, the second loop circuit, and the third loop circuit so that they are operated in a time-division fashion.

    • A variable capacitance device that achieves a desired capacitance even when factors causing varied capacitances are generated is configured such that a capacitance detection pulse signal is applied from a capacitance detection signal generation unit to a driving capacitor and a reference capacitor of a MEMS mechanical unit. The device voltage of the driving capacitor based on the capacitance detection signal and a driving voltage is applied to the inverting input terminal of a comparator. The device voltage of the reference capacitor based on the capacitance detection signal and the driving voltage is applied to the non-inverting input terminal of the comparator. The comparator generates a comparison output signal including “Hi” and “Low” values from the difference between these device voltages, and applies the output signal to a driving voltage generation unit. The driving voltage generation unit increases or decreases the driving voltage based on the comparison output signal.

    • The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method of content retrieval and a program which facilitate recognizing content details of a moving image by displaying a retrieval result for each of a plurality of images.A metadata extracting unit 22 extracts metadata such as information of a representative image from content which is supplied from a content input unit 21 and stores the metadata in a metadata database 24. An image feature quantity extracting unit 23 extracts image feature quantity from content and stores the image feature quantity in an image feature quantity database 25 while extracting image feature quantity from a retrieval image as well. A retrieving unit 27 compares the image feature quantity of the retrieval image with the image feature quantity stored in the image feature quantity database 25 and specifies a still image which is similar to the retrieval image. An output unit 28 reads metadata of the content, generates display data to be necessary for performing timeline displaying, and further, generates display data for displaying a retrieval result on a timeline.
