    • A creation, editing, and display tool for complex diagrams may enable portions of the diagram to be updated without having to update the entire diagram. The tool may use a set of rules that define the positioning and layout of various elements and relationships between elements in the diagram. The update mechanism may enable the rules to be applied to a subset of the diagram and may not update some portions of the diagram, such as those elements outside the viewing area. In some embodiments, a background or low priority process may apply the rules to those portions not updated. The tool may be used for various diagrams, including sequence diagrams and other complex, highly restrained diagram types.

    • A buttonhole or eyelet sewing machine includes a housing. A machine head is slidably mounted on the housing and moves between a home position and a sew position. A bed plate is slidably mounted on the housing. A needle mechanism is mounted on the machine head and is movable in a reciprocal manner with respect to the housing. A first motor is mounted on the housing. The first motor directly drives the machine head between the home position and the sew position. A second motor is mounted on the housing. The second motor directly drives the needle mechanism. The second motor directly drives the bed plate to permit stitching about a buttonhole or eyelet.

    • A backup power supply comprising a removably attachable battery that is configured to provide a backup power supply to an electrical appliance is disclosed herein. An electrical housing is configured to be mounted on the electrical appliance. A removably attachable battery is mounted on the electrical housing, which comprises a circuitry that includes a sensing device that is configured to detect primary power supply from a main power supply to the electrical appliance. A transfer switch is configured to select one of primary power supply provided by the main power supply or the backup power supply provided by removably attachable battery based on the sensing device deciding what is appropriate. A control circuitry is configured to control the transfer switch to engage the removably attachable battery in the circuitry when the sensing device fails to detect the primary power supply from the main power supply to the electrical appliance.
