    • An object of the present invention is to provide a head suspension, which can be assembled without damaging the head element. In the head suspension, a rigid section holds a head slider which writes data on and reads data from a disk. The rigid section is capable of bearing an external force whose direction is perpendicular to a recording face of the disk. A spring section has elasticity in the direction perpendicular to the recording face of the disk. An anti-vibration member is provided in the spring section, the anti-vibration member partially has a vacant space. With this structure, change of elastic pressure of the head suspension can be maintained within a proper range, transmitting the vibration to the head slider can be restricted, and the head slider can be floated stably.

    • A suspension has a head slider loading prearranged portion on which a head slider integrally having a head is loaded, a head IC chip mounting prearranged portion on which a head IC chip is mounted, and wiring patterns which extend from the head slider loading prearranged portion. The head slider is loaded and supported on the head slider loading prearranged portion of the suspension. The head IC chip is mounted on the head IC chip mounting prearranged portion of the suspension. The head IC chip mounting prearranged portion includes through holes formed in the suspension and head IC chip mounting terminals on a surface of the suspension, which surface is opposite to a surface on which the head slider loading prearranged portion is provided, the terminals being electrically connected with the extending ends of said wiring patterns via the through holes, the terminals being provided in an arrangement corresponding to terminals of the head IC chip. The head IC chip is mounted on the surface of the suspension, which surface is opposite to the surface on which the head slider is loaded.

    • The small and light piezoelectric actuator of the present invention is capable of highly precisely positioning a magnetic head assemblies, etc. The piezoelectric actuator comprises: a movable member to which a head suspension is fixed; a fixed member fixed to a carriage arm; piezoelectric elements provided between the movable member and the fixed member and capable of adjusting a position of the head suspension by their deformation; and an electrode member electrically connected to one of electrodes of each of the piezoelectric elements. The movable member is adhered on the piezoelectric elements and electrically insulated from the other electrodes of the piezoelectric elements. The electric conductive layer of the electrode member and the other electrode of each of the piezoelectric elements are electrically connected to cables, which are provided to the head suspension so as to actuate the piezoelectric elements.
