A controller controls the exposure device so that an exposure operation is in an off state in the period in which a toner feeding operation is performed or so that an exposure amount of the exposure device in the period in which the toner feeding operation is performed is smaller than an exposure amount of the exposure device in a period in which the toner image is formed on the surface of the photosensitive member.
