    • An optical pickup device includes a lens holder having an objective lens focusing a light beam onto a signal recording surface of a rotated optical disc and being movable in a focusing direction in parallel with the optical axis of the objective lens and in a tracking direction perpendicular to the optical axis of the objective lens; a support body supporting the lens holder movably in the focusing direction and the tracking direction; and an elastic support member supporting the support body to a base and including a pair of support legs that are inclined to expand the space between the support legs from one ends supporting the support body toward the other and include a plurality of support pieces formed from the one ends toward the other. The support pieces are formed by forming roughly circular, roughly elliptic, or roughly rectangular cut-outs on the support legs.

    • To minimize the amount of air that may enter the damper chamber in a normally closed solenoid valve to stably maintain the damper capacity, the normally closed solenoid valve has a valve housing and a movable element. A cylinder having an open end is formed in one of the valve housing and the movable element. The cylinder has an inner diameter smaller than the outer diameter of a trunk of the movable element. A piston provided on the other of the valve chamber and the movable element is movable relative to the cylinder as the movable member moves. The piston is inserted into the cylinder through its open end to define a damper chamber between the piston and the cylinder. A restricted passage is formed between the damper chamber and the valve chamber through which hydraulic fluid can be moved between the valve chamber and the damper chamber.

    • The present invention is directed to an optical pick-up adapted for moving an object lens (7) supported by a lens holder (2) in a focus direction in parallel to the optical axis direction thereof and in a tracking direction perpendicular to the focus direction, and for performing control of tilt angle serving to tilt the optical axis of the object lens following inclination of an optical disc. At the lens holder, there are provided a pair of focus coils (20) and a pair of tracking coils (30). The pair of focus coils have coil surfaces which are perpendicular to winding axes of coil portions constituting the respective focus coils and face magnets, and are so attached to the lens holder as to face the tangential direction with the object lens put therebetween, the pair of focus coils being shifted in left and right directions respectively away from a virtual axis which is perpendicular to the tracking direction and passes along the optical axis of the object lens, the coil surfaces being directed toward the tangential direction. By changing a drive force produced at the pair of focus coil portions, tilt angle of the object lens is controlled.

    • An optical pickup magneto-optically records information on a magneto optical disc in cooperation with a magnetic head. The optical pickup is disposed at one surface side of the magneto optical disc while the magnetic head is disposed at the other surface side of the magneto optical disc during a recording operation of the magneto optical disc. The optical pickup is provided with: a light emission device for emitting a light beam; an optical system for guiding the emitted light beam; an objective lens for converging and focusing the guided light beam onto the optical disc; and an actuator holding the objective lens and having a magnetic circuit for actuating the objective lens to move in focusing and tracking directions respectively of the magneto optical disc by a magnetic force generated by the magnetic circuit. The magnetic circuit includes a magnetic flux generation device for generating a magnetic flux and a yoke for transmitting the generated magnetic flux in the magnetic circuit to generate the magnetic force. The optical pickup is further provided with: a base plate, to which the actuator is attached, having a wall portion prescribing an aperture through which the light beam passing the objective lens is transmitted; and a body case having a wall prescribing an internal space and an opening, which opens toward the magneto optical disc and which is covered by the base plate, for accommodating the light emission device, the optical system and the magnetic circuit.
