    • An outboard motor generally comprises an engine holder, an engine disposed above the engine holder, an oil pan disposed below the engine holder, and an engine cover covering the engine holder, the engine and the oil pan so as to define a space between the engine and the engine cover. The engine includes a crankcase in which a crankshaft extends vertically perpendicularly in a usable state of the outboard motor, a cylinder block disposed rear side of the crankcase, a cylinder head disposed rear side of the cylinder block, an intake unit disposed to one surface side of the engine, an exhaust unit disposed to another one surface side thereof and arranged so as to project outward from the another one surface side of the engine as an exhaust projection portion, and an electrical equipment part. The above-mentioned space between the engine and the engine cover includes a space portion defined by the cylinder head, the exhaust projection portion and the engine cover and the electrical equipment part is disposed in this space portion.

In the engine unit, the crankshaft is supported by a bearing boss disposed to a mating portion of the cylinder block and the crank case through a bearing means and an oil seal is disposed between the bearing boss and the bearing means, and the magnet device is mounted to the engine body through the stator through a mounting portion. A diameter of the mounting portion of the stator is to be larger than an outer diameter of the oil seal.

    • The present invention is to provide an electronically controlled fuel injection type two-stroke engine wherein the intake air amount can be determined with precision so that the fuel injection amount can be properly controlled in conformity with the varying conditions of the exhaust pressure, to thereby achieve an optimal air-fuel ratio and hence improve the output power, the fuel consumption and the exhaust performance.For the computation of the correction value to the fuel injection amount based on the intake passage pressure, the actual throttle opening and engine speed are detected, and the intake pressure value P is detected at the same time. Then the corresponding basic intake pressure value is selected from the basic intake pressure map so as to calculate the difference between the basic intake pressure value and the detected intake pressure value. This difference corresponds to the difference in exhaust pressure between the base state and the actual run state (exhaust pressure varies depending upon the conditions such as the boat speed, forward/backward mode, the mounted position (height) and the number of the mounted engines and the like). From this difference, the correction value to the fuel injection amount based on the intake pressure is computed.
