When a threshold value violation has occurred, judgement is performed from which use purpose the threshold value derives. The management computer for managing a computer system includes a unit for creating a storage volume according to a hint, a unit for deciding a threshold value for managing the storage volume according to the use purpose of the storage volume, a unit for acquiring a performance value from the storage apparatus, and a unit for comparing the acquired performance value to the threshold value and notifying a warning including a message based on the hint when a threshold value violation is detected.

摘要： In a storage network, two access restriction methods, i.e., zoning and LUN security are available. These functions must be set for each units of the storage network. This disadvantageously takes a long period time and manpower. Since the setting is independently conducted for each unit, inconsistent setting cannot be prevented. A utility program having a management console screen using integrated representation of the zoning and the LUN security is provided. The program removes the user's setting operation for each unit and detects any inconsistent user's operation for the screen. Therefore, the inconsistent setting can be prevented.
