摘要： A home system for supporting a life behavior, in which a user can effectively select a function or content quickly according to attributes and states of display devices arranged in respective locations and the user behavior. A storage unit holds location attribute information on the devices, time band dependent use frequency for each user, and location dependence of each. A user identifier input unit identifies a user using a function or content. When displaying a menu for the user to select a content and a function, a calculation unit references each database of the storage unit in accordance with the menu display state and generates menu content information correlated to the content and the function. A display unit displays such a menu that the user can easily select a content and a function with higher priority rank according to the menu content information.

摘要： The playback of contents in the course of progressive download is stopped depending on the information of the contents and network environments. Also, contents in the course of the playback of progressive download cannot be fast forwarded. When progressive download is indicated, a contents receiving terminal dynamically allocates resources (bus band, CPU, etc.) used in other stream processing within the receiving terminal and fast downloads a portion not downloaded to avoid the interruption of playing contents. Furthermore, the receiving terminal transmits a required communication band to a home gateway, which performs band control with other communications within a home network to allocate a maximum allocatable communication band to the contents receiving terminal.

摘要： To connect two divided and multiplexed streams seamlessly, a gap between video and audio playback times has to be adjusted. And, to make this adjustment, every conventional method has been required to process mass data by extracting and re-encoding the elementary streams and re-arranging the data, so that the data cannot be handled by any video cameras.However, the present invention has successfully solved the above conventional problems as follows. An audio packet disposed at the start of a following stream to be connected is replaced with a null packet if its playback start time precedes that of the video packet. Then, soundless audio packets are added at the end of the preceding stream, thereby eliminating the gap between video and audio playback times in both of the streams to realize the required seamless connection.
