摘要： To develop a polarizing element having a good polarizing property that is a pigment having an excellent blue dye without use of a raw material belonging to a specified chemical substance such as dianisidine.Provided is a polarizing element that comprises a film of a polyvinyl alcohol resin or a derivative thereof containing dichromatic pigments, and having been stretched at a stretch ratio of at least three times, in which at least one of the dichromatic pigments is an azo compound represented by Formula (1) or a salt thereof, and the content of an azo compound represented by Formula (2) or a salt thereof is within 10% with respect to the total amount of the dichromatic pigments.
