摘要： In a spindle motor, a cup portion of a base member includes a cylindrical portion coaxial or substantially coaxial with a central axis extending in a vertical direction and a bottom plate portion defined integrally with the cylindrical portion, and located to close a lower portion of the cylindrical portion. The bearing mechanism is inside of the cup portion and an outer circumferential surface of the bearing mechanism and an inner circumferential surface of the cylindrical portion include a first adhesive layer located therebetween. The base member includes a communicating hole that passes through the bottom plate portion in an axial direction. The communicating hole includes a second adhesive layer located therein.

摘要： A spindle motor includes a base portion and a bearing mechanism. A fixing region, which includes a first region at which the base portion and the bearing mechanism are fixed to each other and a second region at which a seal gap is defined between the base portion and the bearing mechanism, is located between an inner circumferential portion of the base portion which defines a through hole and an outer circumferential portion of the bearing mechanism. The inner circumferential portion of the base portion has, at least in the second region, a degree of surface roughness greater than a degree of surface roughness of the outer circumferential portion of the bearing mechanism. The seal gap gradually decreases in radial width with increasing height, and includes an adhesive along an entire circumference of the seal gap.

摘要： A lead wire guide member is made of an electrically insulating material, and arranged to extend along a lower surface of a base portion. A movement restricting portion is arranged in the lower surface of the base portion. Lead wires are arranged to pass through base through holes to reach the lower surface, and extend along the lower surface to be connected to the circuit board. A spindle motor further includes a sealant arranged between an entire circumferential extent of each base through hole and an entire circumferential extent of the corresponding lead wire. The lead wire guide member includes an inner edge and an outer edge. The inner edge is arranged opposite to the lead wires. The outer edge is arranged to at least face radially outward. The movement restricting portion is in contact with the outer edge of the lead wire guide member.

A plurality of coils of the stator include three coil groups including one or more of the coils defined by a single conducting wire. Each of the common wire elements and lead wire elements passes through a separate one of the base through holes.
