摘要： A digital printing apparatus is capable of a plurality of selectable output speeds, by varying motor speed or pitch configuration. A user using the apparatus at a basic speed can request a temporary increase in speed of his printing apparatus from a vendor who controls aspects of the printing apparatus over a network. The temporary speed increase can be pre-scheduled, such as to occur one day per week. The user can be charged at different per-print rates depending on the selected speed.

摘要： An automatically self-aligning charging device assembly for producing a layer of charge on a charge holding surface in alignment with a document registration position on the platen of a machine. The assembly includes a charging element having a start-of-charging position thereto, and a housing enclosing the charging element. The assembly also includes a stop member mounted to the frame of the machine at a first side of the platen for contacting a first end of the housing at a desired point so as to automatically align the start-of-charging position of the charging element with the document registration position. A resilient force applying member connected to a second end of the housing automatically absorbs corrective adjustments to a location of the start-of-charging position of the charging element relative to the document registration position on the platen, thereby automatically aligning the start-of-charging position with the document registration position.

摘要： In a reproduction system providing an ordered output from a printer to a sheet output stacker of printed transparency sheets interleaved with corresponding paper sheets, with a choice of different output stacker units to be operatively connected to the printer, wherein at least one stacker provides face down stacking, and at least one other provides face up stacking; an automatic electronic printing order control system is automatically electronically activated by the connection of a stacker unit to the printer to change the ordered output of printed transparency sheets and paper sheets so that the transparency sheets will be ahead of their corresponding paper copy sheets regardless of which stacker is connected to the printer. In this example, paper sheets are outputted followed by their corresponding transparency sheets when a non inverting output unit with face up stacking is connected, and the transparency sheets are followed by their corresponding paper sheets when an output stacker with face down stacking is connected, which in this example is a sheet inverting stacker module.

摘要： This invention relates to master alloy hardeners for use in preparing aluminum base alloys. The respective concentrations of the alloying elements in the master alloy hardener are a multiple equal to or greater than 2 of the concentrations of such elements in the base alloy, and the ratios of the alloying elements in the master alloy hardener to each other are the same as the ratios of the alloying elements in the base alloy. After the aluminum base alloy and the concentration of each alloying element therein are identified, a desired multiple of such concentrations is determined. An aluminum master alloy is prepared that contains the alloying elements at concentrations equivalent to such multiple of the corresponding concentrations of the elements in the base alloy. The master alloy hardeners are added to commercially pure aluminum to provide the desired base alloy.

The improved master alloy contains, by weight percent, about 0.20-20% Sr, 0.10-10% B, and the balance Al with impurities. The master alloy may also contain about 0.20 to about 20% Si by weight percent. The master alloys have a high degree of ductility for purposes of forming continuously rolled master alloy rod stock.
