    • A data-imprinting camera includes a winding mechanism for manually winding a film loaded in a camera body, a data imprinting device for imprinting patterns of data onto the film, the data imprinting device having a plurality of light emitting elements arranged such that light dots formed on the film are aligned in the direction perpendicular to the winding direction of the film, and a controlling device for controlling the emissions of the light emitting elements in synchronism with the winding of the film by the winding mechanism, the controlling device including a function to detect condition of the data imprinting and a function to repeat the data imprinting in one picture frame of the film when the detected result is faulty.

    • A system for controlling an aperture of a lens including an adapter for mounting the lens onto a camera body. The adapter includes a ring having an internal gear, and an aperture control bar formed on the ring. Another gear is provided which meshes with the internal gear. The aperture control bar contacts an aperture control lever of the lens, while the other gear is driven by a motor driven AF coupler of the camera body to rotate the ring. The rotation of the ring rotates the aperture control bar, which moves the aperture control lever of the lens. The size of the aperture of the lens is changed when the aperture control bar is moved.

    • An electronic camera having both bright viewfinder image and a minimal effect of dark current on the image output signal. A quick-return mirror, normally positioned in the path of the flux of light from the object image, guides the flux of light into the optical viewfinder system. The quick-return mirror is retractable to allow the flux of light to fall onto an image pickup device. A vertical synchronizing signal generator issues a signal for discharging electric charges stored in the image pickup device after the release switch has been turned on and before the quick-return mirror begins its movement out of the light flux path and issues a signal for reading out electric charges which have been stored in the image pickup device while the shutter is open after an exposure operation has been completed. The frequency of scanning for discharging the electric charges is higher than the frequency for scanning for reading out the electric charges subsequent to the photographing operation.
