    • A networked health care and monitoring system (10) capable of providing an updated reliable vital information on the health condition of individuals and adapted to support home health care and maintenance. The system includes testing and measuring instruments (39; 43; 46; 49; 56) associated with certain household appliances such as a toilet system (12) and adapted to monitor the vital information passively in response to the use thereof in connection with routine living activities of the individuals. The system may further include control devices (39; 46; 49; 56) associated with certain household appliances, such as an ergometer (15), having health care and maintenance functions and adapted to control the appliances based on the vital information monitored by the testing and measuring instruments in the system. In one embodiment wherein the system is arranged in the centralized network configuration, the testing and measuring instruments and the control devices are connected via a local area network with a data controller (20) wherein all the vital information obtained in the system is stored. Instruments and devices (39; 43; 46; 49; 56) are permitted to access the controller through the network to retrieve necessary vital information therefrom. In another embodiment arranged in the distributed network configuration, the vital information obtained by respective measuring instruments is stored therein and is furnished upon request to the other appliances.

    • The present patent application discloses a blank film advance control device for a camera, in which when the film loading cover is closed, the film is automatically advanced a prescribed number of blank frames. The device is provided with means for memorizing the fact that the advancing of the blank frames has completed and means for coordinating the memorizing means with the film loading cover to restore the memorizing state of the memory means at least until the film is rewound. With this, even if the film loading cover is accidentally opened and closed again after the end of the blank film advance, the camera is prevented from performing faulty operations, for example, a second cycle of blank film advance. Instead, it carries out a proper different operation from the first cycle of blank film advance which took place after the film loading cover was closed for the first time.

    • The disclosed light measurement compensation device for a camera includes the known resistors for aperture correction and for curvature correction in order to compensate for the error of light measurement in the full open aperture light measuring mode. The device also includes a resistor for compensating for the light measuring output difference present between two light measuring modes, or partial light measuring mode and average light measuring mode, and another resistor for shifting the light measuring output by a prescribed quantity. For this reason, even though the various light measuring modes, namely, full open aperture-average light measuring, stop down-partial light measuring, full open aperture-partial light measuring, and stop down-average light measuring modes, are selectively used, either an erroneous display or a drop of the exposure accuracy seldom takes place.
