    • A terminal includes at least one wireless communication application module (1) and a plurality of further application modules (4, 5, 6, 8). Multiple radio frequency clock signals are generated for the different modules having respective clock frequency characteristics and including at least first and second clock frequencies that are not integral multiples nor sub-multiples of each other nor of a third frequency. The clock generation comprises reference frequency means (14), fractional-N phase-locked loop frequency synthesizer means (15) responsive to the reference frequency means, and different automatic frequency control means for adjusting clock frequencies relative to received signals. The reference frequency means (14) is arranged to supply a common reference frequency signal to a plurality of the fractional-N phase-locked loop frequency synthesizer means (17, 18, 19, 25, 26, 41,42) that supply the first and second clock frequencies respectively for the application modules. Selective activation means (30,52) selectively activates and de-activates the phase lock loop means as required by the corresponding application module or modules.

    • A transceiver may include an antenna tuning control system operably associated with an antenna tuner to control the current power levels of the transmission signal and the receive signal. The antenna tuner control system may receive transmit power control (TPC) information, which was transmitted to the transceiver from a base station on the receive signal. The TPC information may be utilized to change the current power level of the transmission signal to a desired transmission power level. In addition, the antenna tuner control system may generate receive power control (RPC) information. The RPC information may be utilized to change the current power level of the receive signal to a desired receive power level. The antenna tuner control system is operable to adjust the pass band in accordance with the TPC information and the RPC information.

    • Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to radio frequency (RF) transmitter circuitry, which includes non-inverting path power amplifier (PA) circuitry, inverting path PA circuitry, and RF transformer circuitry. The non-inverting path PA circuitry provides a non-inverting RF signal and a first power supply (PS) signal to the RF transformer circuitry, such that the first PS signal has a first ripple voltage. The inverting path PA circuitry provides an inverting RF signal and a second PS signal to the RF transformer circuitry, such that the second PS signal has a second ripple voltage. The RF transformer circuitry additively combines the non-inverting RF signal and the inverting RF signal to provide an RF output signal, such that effects of the first ripple voltage and the second ripple voltage are substantially cancelled from the RF output signal.

Included are first and second duplexers each having a receive (RX) port, a TX port, and an RX/TX port. Also included are first and second power splitter/combiners each having first, second, and third terminals. Further included are first, second, and third phase shift networks. The first power splitter/combiner's first terminal is coupled to the first duplexer's TX port and a first switch segment is coupled between the first duplexer's RX/TX port and the first terminal of the second coupler. The first phase shift network is coupled to the second duplexer's TX port and a second switch segment in series with the second phase shift network is coupled between the second duplexer's RX/TX port and second coupler's second terminal.     • A system and method for performing sample rate conversion and creating fractional delays to a signal is disclosed. The system comprises a filter, a look up table for storing coefficients for sample rate conversion and fractional delays, and control circuitry configured to use an indexing scheme to select one or more coefficients from the look up table for rate conversion and fractional delays. The coefficients stored in the look up table comprise the coefficients required to generate delays in desired increments of a sample rate. In the disclosed method, the one or more coefficients necessary for a desired sample rate and fractional delay are selected from a single look up table and provided to a filter to delay the signal based upon the input sample rate.

The power management system includes a first switching power supply that is adapted to output a relatively constant voltage, an electronic switch for selectively coupling the first switching power supply to the RF PA load, and a second switching power that is adapted to output a dynamic DC voltage to the RF PA load.
