    • A stereoscopic image display device and method of removing jagging of a stereoscopic image. The method comprises: detecting left edges and right edges by analyzing left-eye image data and right-eye image data; detecting a row line as a complicated line if a number of the left edges or the right edges in the row line is equal to or more than a complicated line threshold value, and counting a number of complicated lines; generating a complexity signal having a first logic level if the number of the complicated lines is equal to or more than a complexity detection threshold value; and generating the complexity signal having a second logic level if the number of the complicated lines is less than the complexity detection threshold value.

    • A method of driving an image display device comprises inserting a reset frame displaying black data between neighboring data frames alternately displaying left-eye data and right-eye data; reflecting gray-scale information of an (n−2)th data frame in a reset frame corresponding to an (n−1)th frame through a predetermined data calculating operation; detecting a data variation between the (n−1)th reset frame and an nth data frame, reading a compensation value corresponding to the detection result from a lookup table, and modulating input data of the nth data frame using the read compensation value; and inverting the polarity of the modulated data according to N frame inversion (N is a multiple of 4) and applying the data having the inverted polarity to a display panel.

    • The present application relates to method of driving an image display device comprising inserting a black data frame displaying black data between neighboring data frames alternately displaying left-eye data and right-eye data; comparing an nth frame corresponding to a current frame and an (n−2)th frame corresponding to a previous frame with each other when the data frames are input, reading a compensation value according to the comparison result from a lookup table and modulating input data of the nth frame using the read compensation value to output a modulated data; and bypassing data corresponding to the black data without modulating the data when the black data is input to output a bypass data, the application also relates to said image display device.

The stereoscopic image display includes shutter glasses including a left eye shutter and a right eye shutter that are alternately turned on and off in synchronization with a display device, a backlight unit that irradiates light to the display device and is periodically turned on and off, a controller that divides a first frame period into a first address period and a first vertical blanking period, divides a second frame period into a second address period and a second vertical blanking period, and controls so that durations of the first vertical blanking period and the second vertical blanking period are different from each other, and a driving circuit that supplies data to the display device during the first and second address periods under the control of the controller.
