    • A cooling apparatus and an image forming device having the cooling apparatus are provided. The cooling apparatus includes an induction opening formed at an outer frame to draw the air into the image forming device, an air duct disposed adjacent to a fixing roller in a longitudinal direction thereof, the fixing roller being heated by a heating source therein, and a blower disposed between the induction opening and the air duct to send the air into the air duct from the induction opening. The cooling apparatus moves the air longitudinally along a jam cover disposed adjacent to the fixing roller, and discharges it to the outside. Accordingly, temperatures in the image forming device and of the components therein can be prevented from overheating and being abnormally increased due to a heat emitted from the heating source. As a result, it is possible not only to prevent a performance of the image forming device from deteriorating due to the abnormal increase in the temperatures in the image forming device and of components therein, but also to prevent a user from getting burned due to the jam cover heated by the heat from the heating source during a jam removing.

    • A method of inspecting for defects in the shape of an object, using an inspected image obtained from an object to be inspected, comprising the steps of: setting a reference image of a reference model for determining the defect in shape of the object to be inspected; obtaining the imaged image from the object to be inspected; comparing the corresponding whole or local area of the reference image with the inspected image in terms of brightness; and determining as to whether or not the object is defective in shape. According to the present invention, the shape defect inspection does not rely upon the skilled person's experience, can reduce time required for inspection, and can be made for the whole area of the inspection area.

    • A cooling apparatus and an image forming device having the cooling apparatus are provided.     • A paper detecting apparatus and an image forming apparatus having the same are disclosed. The paper detecting apparatus has a sensor unit installed in the main body of the image forming apparatus. The location of the paper detecting apparatus is varied according to the size of printing paper so as to be able to detect the presence or absence of printing paper loaded in the feed cassette. The presence or absence of printing paper is detected at the rear end portion of the printing paper. A sensor location varying unit varies the location of the sensor unit for detecting paper according to the size of printing paper such that the sensor unit can detect the printing paper at the rear end portion of the printing paper irrespective of the size of the printing paper loaded in the feed cassette.
