摘要： A potentiometer assembly particularly suited for supplying tuning voltages for all of the bands of signals capable of receipt by a television receiver or the like, includes three segments of resistive material arranged in a circle on a support member. Each of the segments corresponds to a different band of frequencies to which the television receiver may be tuned. Band selection is effected by comparable conductive segments on the support member.In one embodiment, a single wiper is used to sweep all of the resistive segments to supply the desired tuning voltage output. A cam arrangement is used to adjust the detented position of the wiper relative to the support member to effect fine tuning at each position. Other embodiments utilize individually adjustable wipers for each station or detent position of the tuner, with each wiper being preset to effect the fine tuning at the detented position of the potentiometer assembly. The individual contacts or wipers for each position are arranged to overlap comparable resistances on the resistive material, so that the entire range of tuning voltages which appear across the resistive material is available from the outputs of the assembly.

摘要： An STV system commonly transmits scrambled television signals which include encoded data reflecting subscriber address, authorization and program code information. In some STV systems the subscriber installation characteristically comprises a non-addressable converter for converting a transmitted RF signal to an output signal having the frequency of standard VHF television signal. The invention is addressed to an addressable adapter which responds to the output signal of the converter to render the subscriber installation addressable. To this end, the adapter comprises tuning means, data retrieval means and an addressable data processor for deriving, among other information, a decode enable signal. The decode enable signal is instrumental in deriving an unscrambled television signal from the converter output signal.

摘要： Submerged arc welding process for 3.5% Ni steel which can provide a welded portion having a satisfactory impact resistance at low temperatures such as below minus 100.degree. C. In the process, use is made of a flux having a basicity as defined by a formula (CaO+MgO/SiO.sub.2) in weight percentages of between 1.5 and 3. The weld metal is deposited in a plurality of superimposed welded layers, each having a thickness less than 7 mm so that the weld metal in an underlying layer is thermally affected by an adjacent overlying layer whereby recrystallization is effected in substantial thickness of the underlying layer to provide a fine crystalline structure.

摘要： This invention provides a process involving submerged arc welding for nickel containing steel such as steel containing 3.5 weight percent of nickel. The process uses a bond type flux of specific composition to suppress the oxygen content in the weld metal. Further, the process utilizes a cored welding wire including a core material of specific composition. As the result, it is possible to obtain a weld metal of high impact-resistance at low temperatures such as minus 100.degree. C.
