摘要： A connector includes a housing and terminals held by the housing, the housing includes flat plate-like terminal holding portions and contact portion storage opening opened to lower faces of the terminal holding portions. The terminals each have a main body, a U-shaped contact portion that is connected to a front end of the main body and protrudes downward, and a tip portion connected to a front end of the contact portion. The contact portion includes a pair of leg portions extending downward, and a bottom portion coupling lower ends of the leg portions to each other. The main body and the tip portion are integrally connected and held by the terminal holding portions, and the contact portion is stored in the contact portion storage opening.

The connector assembly includes: a connector including a connector body, a terminal attached to the connector body, and a reinforcing metal fitting attached to the connector body, the connector being attached to a surface of a substrate; and a protective member including a pair of parallel first walls extending in a longitudinal direction of the connector body, a pair of parallel second walls extending in a width direction of the connector body, the pair of second walls being connected to both ends of each of the pair of first walls, and an opening in which four sides of periphery are defined by the first wall and the second wall, the protective member being attachable to the surface of the substrate with the connector accommodated in the opening. The protective member is placed on the surface of the substrate while coupled to the connector with the connector accommodated in the opening.

One reinforcing bracket further includes a receiving member capable of emerging/submerging. When the counterpart mating guide part is mated with the mating guide part, the receiving member submerges. When the slide engagement part engages with the slide guide and the counterpart mating guide part slides on the mating guide part, the receiving member emerges and latches the counterpart mating guide part.

The lock devices include sliders attached to the mating guide parts to be slidable in the longitudinal direction of the connector body. The sliders each include a pair of right and left locking protrusions. When the connector body is mated with the mating connector body, the locking protrusions engage with mating reinforcement brackets installed on the mating connector body.
