摘要： A disk-shaped recording medium has a control record region in each recording region of successive recording tracks and which is divided into a first preformat region, a second preformat region and a focusing servo region arranged in succession in the direction along the respective track and respectively providing traverse data, tracking and clock data, and focusing servo data. An apparatus for reproducing data recorded in the tracks of such disk-shaped recording medium samples a playback output from an optical head scanning a track to detect focusing data from the focusing servo region and tracking data from the second preformat region and, in response thereto, applies focusing servo or tracking servo to the optical head. Further, traverse data is detected in the first preformat region to effect traverse counting of the recording tracks.

The film contains 100 weight parts of cellulose acetate having an acetic acid content of 59.0 to 61.5% and 0.01 to 20 weight parts of an aromatic compound having at least two aromatic rings. The cellulose acetate film has an Re retardation value measured at 550 nm (Re550) in the range of 0 to 200 nm and an Rth retardation value measured at 550 nm (Rth550) in the range of 70 to 400 nm. The cellulose acetate film further has a thickness in the range of 10 to 70 μm. The optical compensatory sheet is used in a liquid crystal display.

摘要： A disk-like recording medium is provided with recording tracks (TK), each of which includes recording sectors (SC.sub.1, SC.sub.2, . . . , SC.sub.m). Each of the recording sectors includes a recording region (AR.sub.C) for control and a subsequent region (AR.sub.D) for writing data. The invention further deals with a disk apparatus using the disk-like recording medium. In the recording region (AR.sub.C) for control of the disk-like recording medium are provided a clock data pit (Q.sub.B), a pair of tracking data bit (Q.sub.A, Q.sub.C) positioned inside and outside a track center line (K.sub.C) being separated at a predetermined distance from the clock data pit (Q.sub.B), and a pair of traverse data pits (Q.sub.D,Q.sub.E) being separated from each other at a distance allotted depending upon the recording tracks (TK). In recording or reproducing the data using a light beam, the clocks are reliably reproduced under a stable tracking condition, and traverses can be counted.
