    • An ink jet recording apparatus provided with: an ink jet recording head having a pressurizing chamber communicated with a nozzle opening and a common ink chamber, and a piezoelectric vibrating plate which is formed at a surface of the pressurizing chamber and deflection-displaced, the head being caused to eject an ink drop by the deflection displacement of the piezoelectric vibrating plate; a charging circuit which supplies a current to the piezoelectric vibrating plate in response to a print signal, thereby producing the deflection displacement for ink ejection, and which outputs a signal for holding a charge final voltage during a fixed time period after an end of charge; and a discharging circuit which has a first discharge time constant suitable for sucking meniscus formed immediately after ink ejection toward the pressurizing chamber, thereby preventing the meniscus from being ejected from the nozzle opening, which stops discharge in a range which is (n+3/4) to (n+1) times (where n is 1, 2, 3, . . . , or 8) a natural vibration period T of the piezoelectric vibrating plate, and which conducts discharge at a second and different discharge time constant at an elapse of a predetermined time period.

    • An ink jet printing device supplies first and second signals to cause a pressure generating chamber to jet out ink droplets. A third signal is applied to the pressure generating chamber to effectively attenuate the kinetic energy of the meniscus and to hold the meniscus at a position suitable for jetting out the next ink droplet to provide a stable print output. Also, an ink-jet recording apparatus is provided with a control means for controlling the timing of the start of the second signal and the timing of the start of the third signal according to the environmental temperature. In the ink-jet recording apparatus, the discharge speed of ink drops is made constant by regulating the start time of the second signal so as to make constant the drawing position of a meniscus when the ink drops are discharged. Further, the pressure generating chamber is expanded again by applying the third signal at the time the vibration of the meniscus generated by the discharge of the ink drops is moved closest to the pressure generating chamber, so that the kinetic energy of the meniscus moving to the nozzle can effectively be attenuated.

    • A fluid ejecting apparatus includes a drive element that performs a driving operation when a drive waveform is applied thereto and causes a nozzle to eject fluid. A drive signal generating unit generates a first drive signal having a first drive waveform at a front section of a predetermined period and a second drive waveform at a rear section thereof. A second drive signal has a third drive waveform at a front section of the predetermined period and a fourth drive waveform at a rear section thereof. A control unit applies the first drive waveform to the drive element, which then performs a first operation, applies the fourth drive waveform to the drive element, which then performs a second operation, and applies the second drive waveform to the drive element after applying the third drive waveform thereto, so that the drive element performs a third operation.
