    • An IC socket comprises an insulative housing adapted to accommodate an IC package and a pressing device pivotably attached to the insulative housing. The insulative housing defines some first pivoting holes at two opposite ends thereof and some second pivoting holes distant with the first pivoting holes. A pair of first shafts are assembled in the first pivoting hole of the insulative housing to pivotally latch the pressing device on the insulative housing and are movable in a vertical direction, so that the pressing device is floatable and can engage with different packages of different thickness. Two second shafts are assembled in the second pivoting holes. The IC socket further includes a plurality of spring members linking the first shafts and the second shafts to make the pressing device downwardly in a vertical direction.

    • An electrical connector for connecting a flat circuit includes an insulating housing defining an insertion slot for receiving the flat circuit, a plurality of terminals arranged in the housing in parallel relationship, a shielding shell surrounding the insulating housing and an actuator. The terminals have contacting projections extending into the insertion slot. The shell provides a plurality of spaced spring fingers extending into the inserting slot and establishes a receiving path between the contacting projections and the pivot beams. The actuator is mounted on the electrical connector for movement between an open position lifting up the spring fingers of the shielding shell and allowing insertion of the flat circuit into the inserting slot and a closed position allowing the pivot beam restore and pressing against the flat circuit toward the contacting projections.

    • An electrical connector comprises an insulative housing having a plurality of passageways, and a number of contacts receiving in corresponding passageways, respectively. The contacts comprises a first base portion having a first retaining portion for securing the contact in the passageway, and a second base portion having a second resilient arm extending therefrom. A first resilient arm extends upwardly from the first base portion and having a contacting portion disposed at a free end thereof. The second base portion and the second resilient arm are attached to the first base portion and the first resilient arm, respectively, from a lower position. Accordingly, an electrical connector with a large array pattern of the contacts is achieved under a condition that steady electrical connection is provided.
