    • The present invention presents a system and method of providing information retrieved from a server from across a communication network that enables archiving services that do not interfere with existing components and protocols. The services enable users to retrieve and/or search for old information, even after such information has evolved or disappeared from the original server. The network resource naming (e.g. URL) format is extended to include archive directives that are intercepted and performed by a proxy server. The proxy interprets the archive directive and executes the specified archival command: e.g., adding the information to a storage repository, searching and retrieving the information from the storage repository, scheduling automatic archiving of specified server information, transparent archiving of information that is accessed by the client or of the client's cache. The information can be easily indexed by a timestamp. Multiple proxy servers can collaborate permitting information to be archived in a distributed fashion. Embodiments of the present invention advantageously do not require changes to client or server software or communication protocols.

    • A vehicular audio/video expansion device provided with learning function, a vehicular audio/video system using the same and its learning method have been disclosed. According to the present invention, the vehicular A/V system comprises: a playback device having a remote control provided with a first button associated with a first control code for controlling the playback device when the first button is pressed; a host provided with a second button associated with a second control code; and an expansion device coupled to the host and the playback device. The expansion device processes the first control code and the second control code to generate a corresponding relation under a learning mode. According to the corresponding relation, the function of the first button is replaced by the second button to control the playback device under an operation mode.

    • A vehicular audio/video system according to the present invention comprises: an expansion device for generating an output signal; an output device for receiving the output signal; an optical disc device for generating a first input signal to the expansion device; a detachable media storage device for generating a media data to the expansion device which processes the media data into a second input signal; and a handheld communication device for generating a communication data to the expansion device which processes the communication data into a third input signal. The expansion device selects the first input signal to be the output signal under an optical disc mode, selects the second input signal to be the output signal a media play mode, and selects the third input signal to be the output signal under a communication mode.
