    • A spray nozzle (10) attaches to a garden hose (H) used to water lawns and gardens comprising. A nozzle body (12) has formed in it a fluid inlet (14), a fluid outlet (16), and a fluid passage (18) extending between the inlet and outlet. The inlet attaches to the hose, and the outlet forms an orifice through which water sprays onto a lawn or garden. A valve (40) includes a valve stem (42) movable a position blocking the orifice to a position in which fluid discharges through the outlet. A handle (62) is grasped by a user of the hose and is attached to the valve stem for moving the stem relative to the orifice. The extent of this movement is a function of a desired spray pattern, this pattern being maintained so long as a constant grip pressure is maintained on the handle. A position clip (72) is movably mounted on the body is movable by the user. The clip, when in place, holds the handle in a position by which the desired spray pattern is maintained even when the user's grip pressure is released.

    • In accordance with the teachings of the present invention, a computer-implemented apparatus and method is provided for determining the impact of certain actions on the performance of a pre-specified or modeled system is provided. A manifest variable database is utilized for storing manifest variable data relating to user interaction with a system of interest. An imputation module may be coupled to the manifest variable database for calculating any missing manifest variables. Embodiments of the invention may further include a statistical weights calculator for determining strength of correlation among manifest and latent variables, a latent score calculator, a fuzzy clustering module that derives clusters or segments that have their own impacts and scores for a fitted model and constraining impact calculator that determines the impact of certain operations on the fitted model.

    • A rotary sprinkler and sled base. The sled base has a main body with a pair of wings pivotally connected thereto at opposed sides. The wings permit compact storage when folded in and provide a wider footprint when folded out to make the sprinkler more stable. The sprinkler head has a water channel which permits the jets to be lower to the ground for increased sprinkler stability. The sprinkler has a plurality of different sized vertical jets to achieve a more uniform water distribution, the top jet spraying further from the sprinkler, the bottom jet spraying the closest. The sprinkler has deflection means. The deflector may be a manually adjustable to fix the maximum spray distance or the deflector may be connected to a cam follower which follows a deformable circular "roller coaster" cam surface to alter the maximum spray distance as the sprinkler rotates. The deflector assembly may also include means for reducing water flow to the all of the jets.
