摘要： A method and apparatus for managing a HOLD announcement in a communication network. At an Application Server, AS, a message is received from a user terminal, the message comprises of an indicator, specifying whether the AS should provide a HOLD announcement in the event of a change in direction of a media stream between the user terminal and a further node during a session. The AS stores the indicator in a memory. Upon determination that a change in direction of the media stream has occurred, the AS determines, from the indicator, whether or not to provide the HOLD announcement to the further node.

摘要： Methods and apparatus for controlling the presentation of user changeable IP Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, service rules at a user equipment. The service rules, conditions, and/or actions are defined within an XML document maintained within the IMS network. The XML document includes one or more informational elements identifying the service rules that the user can change, which include at least one of an unconditional or immediate based service rule. Upon receipt of the XML document, the user equipment or a web portal, interprets the informational element(s) and presents an indication in relation to whether the service rules are changeable. In response, user defined service rule information may be received and used in changing service rules associated with the user. The user defined service rule information is transmitted to the IMS network for validation and allowable portions of the user defined service rule information are used in updating the service rules.

摘要： Methods and apparatus are provided for performing a trace session between a first user equipment (UE), and a second UE in a telecommunications network including an IMS network. A trace session initiator activates the trace session with an activation request message, or a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) INVITE message, including trace settings comprising informational elements describing the trace session. The activation message may be converted into the SIP I NVITE message and sent towards the first and/or the second UE. The SIP INVITE message may include trace settings as extensible mark-up language (XML) informational elements within the body of the SIP INVITE request message and/or as request Uniform Resource Identifier informational elements within the SIP INVITE request message. Network elements in the communications path between the UEs are configured to detect the trace session by detecting the trace settings in the SIP INVITE request message and act accordingly.
