The maintenance devices each include a movable component and a locking mechanism. The fingers are wedged between the movable component and the filling valve apparatus when the movable component is in the engaged position for securing the device to the filling valve apparatus.

A sleeve is disposed over the stem and is removable from the stem and the body portion when the filling valve apparatus is serviced. A seal is mounted to the bottom of the sleeve. At least one component is movably connected to the sleeve and remains connected to the sleeve when the sleeve is removed from the stem and the body portion during the servicing of the filling valve apparatus. Similarly, a valve assembly, having a housing and a movable plunger is removable from the body portion. At least one member is mechanically connected to one of the housing and plunger for creating a unitary valve assembly that remains intact when the valve assembly is removed from the body portion during servicing of the filling valve apparatus.

The device and method initiate a search for a certificate needed to encrypt a message to a particular recipient prior to receiving a send instruction from the user. If the certificates required are not on the device, then a search of the remote source is initiated. The detection of changes to the recipient list and the initiation of any required searches occurs prior to receipt of a send instruction from the user.

Certificates located in a certificate search are processed at a data server (e.g. a mobile data server) coupled to a computing device (e.g. a mobile device) to determine status data that can be used to indicate the status of those certificates to a user of the computing device, without having to download those certificates to the computing device in their entirety. The data server is further adapted to transmit the status data to the computing device.
