摘要： A transaction terminal includes a housing, an elongated finger recess defined by the housing, and a finger scanner sensor disposed in the recess. The elongated finger recess may include a length of at least approximately a two knuckle distance. An outer surface region of the housing and the finger recess may define a web receiving area adapted to receive a web of a hand. The transaction terminal can include a card cavity formed integral with the elongated finger recess.

摘要： The invention is a transaction terminal having an encryption mode apparatus comprising a secure information entry circuit and a secure mode indicator. The secure information entry circuit is operable to execute an encryption routine including steps that involve application of an encryption algorithm. Further included in the secure mode information entry circuit is cryptographic firmware which adapts the secure information entry circuit so that an encryption mode signal is caused to change state when an encryption routine is called. The indicator of the encryption mode apparatus is made responsive to the encryption mode signal so that the indicator indicates to a user as to whether data entered into the terminal will be encrypted by the terminal.

摘要： A device for holding a target adjacent first and second intersecting surfaces of a structure to assist in measuring a distance from an instrument to the target. The device has first and second levers that are joined by a pin that has a section that extends above the levers to receive the target. A force is applied to the first and second levers to bring non-skid pads thereon into engagement with the intersecting surfaces. The target is thereafter rotated into parallel alignment with the second surface and the instrument is aligned with the first surface. A signal transmitted from the instrument is reflected from the target to provide a direct measurement of the distance from the instrument to the target.

摘要： The present invention relates to an apparatus for sharpening a circular blade. The sharpening apparatus is adapted to be positioned adjacent a power-driven sharpening wheel at an angle. The sharpening apparatus includes an angularly adjustable tool holder for angularly positioning the circular blade against the power-driven sharpening wheel. The sharpening apparatus of the present invention also includes a blade holder that quickly and easily locks the circular blade into place for sharpening and releases the blade after sharpening is complete. The present invention provides a reasonably safe and efficient sharpening apparatus for circular blades that provides uniform, high quality sharpening of one-sided and two-sided blades of varying circumferences.

The invention further provides an operating key 100 comprising means to at least partially rotate at least part 160 of the key element 110 around an axis extending from the key body 105. The operating key 100 is thus a “universal” key, which may be used in horizontal or vertical hinged doors, though is not limited to such use.
