    • A wireless communications device with a wireless module, a storage unit and a controller module is provided for performing positioning measurements. The wireless module receives a plurality of positioning signals from a service network during respective position occasions. The controller module processes the received signals and performs measurements on the processed signals, wherein measurement result is taken at least three processed signals with respective position occasions, wherein each measurement result is stored in the storage unit with the information of corresponding base station and respective position occasion, wherein performing the measurements further include combining the stored measurement results for all of position occasions for generating a final measurement report.

    • A communications device is provided. The transceiver module transmits and receives signals via one or more transmitting beams and one or more receiving beams. The communications state measurement module measures strength of the received signals to obtain a spatial profile including information regarding received signal strength for the one or more receiving beams with respect to one or more transmitting beams of another communications device communicating with the communications device. The sensor module senses a status of the communications device to obtain context information of the communications device according to the sensed status. The communications control module obtains the spatial profile from the communications state measurement module and the context information from the sensor module and determining an optimum action to control the transceiver module to search, track and/or adjust the one or more receiving beams according to the spatial profile and the context information.

    • A mobile communication device and associated method are provided. The device includes a positioning unit, configured to provide position information of the mobile communication device, and a processing unit, configured to detect an approach to a first geofence according to a plurality of contexts associated with the mobile communication device, turn off the positioning unit when not detecting the approach to the first geofence, and turn on the positioning unit when detecting the approach to the first geofence. The contexts include at least one cellular context and at least one personal context or multimedia context, and the processing unit is further configured to prioritize at least one of the cellular context and the personal context or the multimedia context over the other contexts, for detecting the approach to the first geofence.

    • A method for enhancing positioning measurement and a communications apparatus are disclosed. The method includes receiving an observed mobility difference of arrival (OTDOA) request and a search list of cells provided by a network at a second time point, comparing the received search list to a stored search list of cells which is received from the network at a first time point and stored in a database, searching at least one of the cells from the received search list by using different search ranges adjusted according to the comparison result, and storing the at least one of the cells in the database, and performing OTDOA measurements from the at least one of the cells. The corresponding communications apparatus includes a receiving module, a comparing module, a searching module, and a measuring module, configured to carry out the above-identified operations.
