    • A video display apparatus includes a light source unit that includes a plurality of single-color light sources emitting light beams of different wavelengths and a control unit that controls actuation of the light source unit. The control unit sets a single-color light emission period in which at least two single-color light sources of the plurality of single-color light sources emit the light beams in a time division manner and a multiple-color light emission period in which at least two single-color light sources of the plurality of single-color light sources emit the light beams simultaneously, within one frame period, based on a result of analyzing the video signal for each image data on a frame basis.     • A projection display apparatus includes an imager that modulates light emitted from a light source and a projection unit that projects light emitted from the imager on a projection surface.
