    • A method of manufacturing a steam turbine rotor which includes an ultra-high temperature side portion in which ultra-high temperature steam flows and a high temperature side portion in which high temperature steam flows, the manufacturing method including the steps of: preparing a first electrode having a chemical composition corresponding to a chemical composition of a heat resistant alloy making up the ultra-high temperature side portion and a second electrode having a chemical composition corresponding to a chemical composition of the high temperature side portion; tentatively joining together joints of the electrodes, with the joints of the electrodes made smaller in cross sectional area than other electrode portions; subjecting the tentatively joined first and second electrodes to an ESR process to obtain an ESR ingot and forging the ingot into a shape of a rotor to obtain a rotor forging; and heat-treating the rotor forging to obtain a rotor blank and manufacturing the steam turbine rotor from the rotor blank.

    • A process for making a porous sintered body of calcium phosphate having continuous and fine pores distributed uniformly throughout the porous body is provided which comprises the steps of: preparing a slurry of amorphous calcium phosphate having a molar ratio of calcium to phosphor ranging within 1.59 to 1.80; adding a foaming agent to said slurry; dipping a porous body of an organic material having continuous and fine void channels into said slurry prior to or after foaming said slurry to allow said slurry to adhere on the internal walls of said void channels; heating said porous body of said organic material at a temperature high enough for decomposing said organic material to varnish into smoke and concurrently for thermally converting said amorphous calcium phosphate into hydroxyapatite to form a network of hydroxyapatite; and sintering said network of hydroxyapatite to form said porous sintered body.

    • A turbine rotor 300 includes: a high-temperature turbine rotor constituent part 301 where high-temperature steam passes; low-temperature turbine rotor constituent parts 302 sandwiching and weld-connected to the high-temperature turbine rotor constituent part 301 and made of a material different from a material of the high-temperature turbine rotor constituent part 301; and a cooling part cooling the high-temperature turbine rotor constituent part 301 by ejecting cooling steam 240 to a position, of the high-temperature turbine rotor constituent part 301, near a welded portion 120 between the high-temperature turbine rotor constituent part 301 and the low-temperature turbine rotor constituent part 302. A value equal to a distance divided by a diameter is equal to or more than 0.3, where the distance is a distance from the position, of the high-temperature turbine rotor constituent part 301, ejected the cooling steam 240 up to the welded portion 120, and the diameter is a turbine rotor diameter of the high-temperature turbine rotor constituent part 301.
