摘要： According to an image forming apparatus, a simple arrangement is used to switch the transmission of drive forces, produced by drive sources that are used in common by multiple drive mechanisms, without depending on the movement of a carriage, for example. The drive force produced by a line feed (LF) motor to drive feed rollers is transmitted to a pump cam in a recovery system via a pendulum drive force transmission mechanism, which is provided at one end close to the feed rollers. And the drive force produced by another motor to drive paper supply rollers is transmitted via the same pendulum drive force transmission mechanism to the paper supply rollers, or to a blade holder and a cap holder in the recovery system. Therefore, the transmission of the drive forces can be switched by controlling the rotational directions of the motors.

摘要： An image forming apparatus has a discharged-sheet stacker in which a longer time period can be secured until sheets are superposed. A plurality of stages of discharged-sheet supports, each for holding a sheet, are provided in the discharged-sheet stacker. By sequentially operating the discharged-sheet supports, a printed sheet is sequentially shifted between the discharged-sheet supports, and is finally mounted onto a discharged-sheet tray. By operating the discharged-sheet supports even after printing has been completed, all printed sheets are finally mounted on the discharged-sheet tray.

This recording apparatus includes a feed roller for feeding a plurality of recording media one by one, a conveying roller for conveying the recording medium fed by the feed roller to a recording device, and the recording device for performing a record on the recording medium conveyed by the conveying roller. In this apparatus, when a succeeding recording medium is fed during discharge of the recording medium on which the record has been completed, a feed start timing by the feed roller is determined in accordance with a leading end margin amount for the succeeding recording medium.

摘要： An ink jet recording method forms an ink jet image on a recording medium by serially moving an ink jet recording head having a plurality of ink discharge ports arranged in an array along a conveyance direction of the recording medium. The method includes the step of providing a platen having a planar section upstream in the conveyance direction and a slant section slanted downstream in the conveyance direction and in a direction parting from the ink discharge ports, opposed to an array of the ink discharge ports when the ink jet recording head serially moves. The method further includes the step of forming an ink jet image on the recording medium by ink discharge from the ink discharge ports when the ink jet recording head moves at least three times across a same area of the recording medium, a reverse side of which is supported by the platen.

摘要： A sheet feeding apparatus includes a discharge rotary body, a pinch rotary body, a drive transmission rotary body and a regulation member. The discharge rotary body feeds and discharges a sheet from a recording section. The pinch rotary body is disposed facing the discharge rotary body for pinching and feeding the sheet along the discharge rotary body. The drive transmission rotary body has a circumferential surface contacting a circumferential surface of the discharge rotary body with a pressure exerted in a direction different from a straight line drawn between rotary centers of the discharge rotary body and the pinch rotary body, for rotationally driving the discharge rotary body. The regulation member contacts the discharge rotary body when deformation of the discharge rotary body exceeds a predetermined quantity arising due to pressure from the drive transmission rotary body and regulates deformation of the discharge rotary body from exceeding the predetermined quantity.
