    • There is described a medical image recording system for recording an image on a reflex-type recording medium based on image information, and a medical image recording system for recording with ink-jet the medical image information obtained through an input device, such as a medical photographing device. The system includes an image-processing section to apply a dynamic-range compression processing to original image signals representing the medical image and inputted therein, in order to generate output image signals, and an image-forming section to form a compressed medical image on the reflex-type recording medium, based on the output image signals generated by the image-processing section. The dynamic-range compression processing is to compress a dynamic-range of density variation to be expressed on the reflex-type recording medium.

    • There is described an image processing apparatus that converts (n+m)-bit monochromatic image data of a single channel into n-bit color display image data of three channels or more, based on predetermined correlations. The apparatus includes luminance and chromaticity calculating sections to calculate luminance and chromaticity information corresponding to each of monochrome signal values; a signal value determining section to determine each combination of plural-channel color signal values represented by the n-bit color display image data, based on the luminance and chromaticity information, so that each combination of the plural-channel color signal values corresponds to each of the monochrome signal values; and a correlation establishing section to establish the predetermined correlations between the (n+m)-bit monochromatic image data and the n-bit color display image data, so that each combination of the plural-channel color signal values and each of the monochrome signal values are correlated with each other.

    • There is described an inkjet recording medium that can display image suitable for observation without employing wet development processing. The recording medium is substantially transparent and includes a supporting base shaped in a sheet; and an ink-absorbing layer that is formed on at least one of both sides of the supporting base, and that absorbs ink particles so as to form the image. The diffuse transmission density of a first area, being a part of the recording medium on which no image is formed, is in a range of 0.45-0.15, and a Q-factor of the first area is in a range of 1.50-1.00; and the recording medium is so constituted that a Q-factor of a second area, being a part of the recording medium on which an image is formed so as to adjust a diffuse transmission density at 1.00, is in a range of 1.20-1.00.
