    • A generation device, having a magneto generator, in which an AC control voltage is applied from a battery charged with a rectified output of the magneto generator to an armature winding of the generator through an inverter to control a battery voltage to a limit value or less, comprising: fixed point detection means for detecting a fixed point on a waveform of a phase current of the generator; phase current phase detection means for detecting a phase angle of the fixed point in relation to a reference phase; arithmetical operation means for arithmetically operating timing for generating the AC control voltage with reference to the phase of the fixed point; and inverter control means for controlling switch elements of the inverter so as to generate the AC control voltage at the timing arithmetically operated by the arithmetical operation means.

    • A method of controlling an electric power source apparatus including an electric power converter circuit which converts an output of an electric power source into DC or AC output and load connector terminals across which is applied an output of said converter circuit, which includes the steps of detecting a waveform of the load voltage across the load connection terminals after the output of the electric power converter circuit is stopped when an overcurrent flows through the load connection terminals, of judging a cause due to which the overcurrent flows, and of controlling said converter circuit according to the result of the judgement, wherein the electric power converter circuit is kept stopped when it is judged that the overcurrent is caused by an increase in the load and the electric power converter is so controlled that the waveform of the voltage applied across the load connection terminals from the electric power converter circuit is consistent with the waveform of the voltage detected by the voltage waveform detection step when it is judged that the overcurrent is caused by a voltage applied from another power source.

    • A generating apparatus for feeding a current to a battery using a magneto as a power supply is disclosed which is capable of varying a magnetic field acting on generating coils to widely control characteristics of the magneto. A rectifying/switch circuit is arranged between the magneto and a load, which incorporates the battery. The rectifying/switch circuit includes diodes and switch elements. The diodes are 2n (n.gtoreq.2) in number and are bridge-connected to each other. The switch elements are connected to the diodes by reverse parallel connection. A switch control unit applies an AC control voltage of a predetermined phase from the battery through the rectifying/switch circuit to the generating coils, so that a phase of the AC control voltage may be varied to widely vary characteristics of the magneto.
