The stocker is moved up and down in order to align the position of the recorded medium carrier with the first or second transport unit. While a recorded medium carrier is transported from the outside of the housing to the stocker, light emitting and receiving elements detect a presence/absence of a recorded medium. A control unit stores information of a presence/absence of a recorded medium at each stage of the stocker, and displays the contents of the information on a display unit.
