摘要： In an apparatus for reproducing either a video signal or a PCM (pulse code modulated) audio signal from a record medium, the existence of a PCM audio signal recorded on the record medium is detected in response to an identifying pilot signal recorded together with the PCM audio signal, and, when a video signal is being reproduced, detection of a PCM audio signal is obviated. Thus, even if the identifying pilot signal and a portion of the video signal are superposed upon each other on a frequency axis, erroneous assumption of the presence of a recorded PCM audio signal can be avoided to prevent incorrect reproducing operation.

摘要： An apparatus for recording and reproducing a video signal and an audio signal which are recorded in different areas or portions of each slant track on a tape includes first and second rotary heads for recording and reproducing the video and audio signals in alternate tracks, a playback circuit for processsing luminance and chrominance components of the video signal reproduced by the first and second rotary heads when scanning video signal-containing areas of the respective tracks, a circuit for supplying an audio signal to the rotary heads to be recorded, a signal generator for generating a predetermined signal in substitution for the processed luminance component, and a muting circuit for muting the reproduced chrominance component, and wherein the predetermined signal from the signal generator is substituted for the processed luminance component and the chrominance component is muted by the muting circuit during recording of the audio signal in place of a previously recorded audio signal.

摘要： In an image display apparatus and image display method suppress the degradation of display function and the shortening of service life due to long-term use, measurement of a current value is carried out and the measured current value each time a certain time elapses is stored. The integrated value of the current is calculated, and a comparator compares the integrated value with a reference value stored in a storage section for determining whether or not the result is greater than a prescribed value. If the result is affirmed to differ by prescribed value, a recovery voltage is applied, and it is determined whether or not a recovery time has exceeded a stored recovery time. If the excedance of the recovery time is affirmed, the application of the recovery voltage is terminated. If a negation is given at the determination of the greater difference value, the flow is ended. If a negation is given at the determination of the recovery time, the recovery voltage is applied.

摘要： A medium writing apparatus obtains information to be written onto a recording medium, converts the information into a suitable writable format, and then writes the converted information onto the recording medium. An ID obtaining section obtains a medium ID from the recording medium, or through an input by the user. The medium ID and information indicating the place of the written information are sent to a server, and then stored as index information correlating them with each other. When the information written onto the recording medium is to be used at a later timing, the medium ID is identified, and the index information is obtained from the server.
