摘要： A color image forming apparatus is capable of reducing color deviation of an image due to the influence of a variation in load of an intermediate transfer member and of carrying out high speed printing. A control unit for controlling an image forming process on the basis of the size of a recording medium sets, where a recording medium of a size smaller than the longest image length capable of forming a color image is subject to continuous image formation, a first mode for continuously carrying out a development process for forming a latent image and a toner image, and a second mode of incorporating a stop process for stopping the development process in the midst of the development process. This enables reduction of color deviation of an image caused by the influence of a variation in load of an intermediate transfer member and high speed printing also.

摘要： A picture image forming apparatus including a photoreceptor belt driven by a drive device, a plurality of developing devices for forming toner picture images on the photoreceptor belt, an intermediate transfer device, to a surface of which toner picture images on the photoreceptor belt are overlappingly transferred plural times when a picture image is to be formed on a single page, and a transfer roller for pushing a sheet against the intermediate transfer device in order to transfer toner picture images to the sheet. The intermediate transfer device is an intermediate transfer belt contacted by the photoreceptor belt to be driven thereby. A photoreceptor-side roller enables contact of the intermediate transfer belt and the photoreceptor belt, and the intermediate transfer belt is trained around the photoreceptor-side roller and a transfer-side roller for pushing the sheet against the transfer roller. A diameter d2 of the transfer-side roller is smaller than a diameter d1 of the photoreceptor-side roller.

摘要： An apparatus for transferring toner images which is capable of executing optimum discharging control even where the environment, the material of the paper, and the kind of paper may be changed.First, the load current is detected when the transferring roller 11 is pressed to a transferring drum 6. The detected load current is converted to a characteristics detecting signal S6 at a signal converting section 109. An environment is selected on the basis of the characteristics detecting signal S6. Next, the load current flowing to the transferring roller 11 is detected when an AC discharger 14 is stopped. The detected load current is converted to characteristics detecting signal S6 at the signal converting section 109. A voltage control signal is selected based on the converted characteristics detecting signal S6, the environmental information, and the paper kind. A power source for discharging 22 is controlled by the selected voltage control signal so that the transferring becomes optimum.Accordingly, even if the kind of paper and environment is changed, optimum transferring and high transferring efficiency can be maintained.
