    • An airbag and airbag device are provided wherein the left airbag section and right airbag section both expand generally uniformly. An airbag comprises a right airbag section which expands at the right side ahead of the passenger, and a left airbag section which expands at the left side ahead of the passenger. Openings are provided on the facing faces of the right airbag section and the left airbag section at a portion partway along the direction of expansion, the perimeter portions of the openings and are sewn together.     • In an airbag, a distal side is inflated away from a proximal side with an inflator disposed on the proximal side. The airbag includes a left airbag section, a right airbag section, and a belt strap disposed in one of the left and right airbag sections located closer to a vehicle body side for connecting a portion of the airbag section on the vehicle body side and an opposite portion. A height H1 in a vertical cross section from a lowest level to a joint portion between the belt strap and the portion is within a range from 0.4 H to 0.8 H, wherein H represents an entire height. A height H2 from the joint portion between the belt strap and the opposite portion is within a range from 0.3 H to 0.6 H, and is smaller than H1.

    • An airbag is provided in which connecting belts extending from opposed surfaces of a left airbag section and a right airbag section can be connected easily to each other and which can be manufactured easily. In one form, the airbag is composed of four panels; an inside panel, a right outside panel, a left outside panel and a proximal panel. Connecting belts are connected to the inside panel. The respective connecting belts are each formed with an insertion portion by folding a cloth fabric having a pair of end sides at about a midsection thereof. Rod-shaped jigs are inserted into the respective insertion portions. In a state in which the connecting belts are overlapped, the jibs are fixed in parallel at a predetermined distance, and width control tethers are pulled in the directions away from each other. Accordingly, a tensile force is applied to the respective connecting belts, and hence a tensed flatly extended state is achieved. Therefore, the connecting belts can be stitched with respect to each other easily.
