    • To suppress color moire in a color image recording apparatus, a method for recording a color image by forming recording dots of at least first through third colors on a recording medium in a plurality of lines of recording dots each extending in a main scan direction and a plurality of rows of recording dots each extending in a sub-scan direction, wherein each line is divided into a predetermined number of lines in a sub-scanning direction to form sub-lines, and dots are printed in a respective sub-line for every line. Printing is performed so a respective dot for at least one color is arranged so that the number of sub-lines between the respective recording dot and a recording dot immediately before the respective recording dot in the sub-scanning direction is different from the number of sub-lines between the respective recording dot and a recording dot immediately after the respective recording dot, and in adjacent rows in the main scanning direction, recording dots are formed so that repeating phases of the recording dots differ from each other.

    • To suppress color moire in a color image recording apparatus, a method for recording a color image by forming record dots of at least first through third colors on a recording medium in a plurality of lines of record dots each extending in a main scan direction and a plurality of rows of record dots each extending in a sub-scan direction, includes the step of forming the record dots of first through third colors with a different disposition pattern effective to avoid the occurrence of color moire. In a preferred embodiment, the disposition pattern of the record dots of one of the three colors comprises an ordinary zigzag printing pattern in which selected ones of the record dots in each line of record dots are shifted in the sub-scan direction by a uniform amount, the disposition pattern of the record dots of another one of the three colors comprises a modified ordinary zigzag pattern in which a dot pitch between lines of record dots in the sub-scan direction is a non-integer multiple of the dot pitch of the ordinary zigzag printing pattern, and the disposition pattern of the remaining one of the three colors comprises a modified ordinary zigzag pattern in which corresponding record dots in adjacent lines of record dots are closer to each other than are the record dots in adjacent rows.

    • A rotating electric machine is provided, where a generator has an increased capacity and a reduced size achieved by electromagnetically effectively utilizing that parts of a rotor core which are outside the narrowest parts of magnetic poles of the rotor core to permit large field current and suppress an increase in temperature of rotor coils. The rotating electric machine includes a stator constructed by winding armature coils around a stator core (1), and a hollow circular cylindrical rotor. The rotor has at least one pair of magnetic poles (2), non-polar portions (3) between the magnetic poles, and interpolar portions (6) arranged in the non-polar portions. In the non-polar portions (3), a plurality of rotor slots (4) are arranged at predetermined intervals. Field windings are wound in each rotor slot (4). The cross-sectional areas (S) of the rotor slots (4) other than the rotor slots (4a) nearest to the magnetic poles (2) are gradually increased in the direction from the magnetic poles (2) to the interpolar portions (6).
