摘要： Compositions are provided which contain (a) one or more polysiloxanes comprising at least one reactive functional group; a plurality of particles; and optionally, one or more curing agents comprising at least one functional group that is reactive with any reactive functional group of polysiloxane (a). Additionally, a process for applying the multi-component composite coatings described above to a substrate and coated substrates are provided. A process for preparing the coating compositions also is provided. The multi-component composite coating compositions of the invention provide highly scratch resistant color-plus-clearcoatings capable of retaining scratch resistance after weathering.

摘要： Aqueous coating compositions which may be applied by conventional coating techniques as well as by electrodeposition are provided by reacting an epoxy-containing organic material with a compound containing a mercaptan group and at least one group hydrolyzable to a carboxyl group. Examples of such hydrolyzable groups include ester groups, amide groups and nitrile groups. The resultant product is then hydrolyzed and solubilized using hydrolyzing agents such as aqueous alkali metal hydroxides and aqueous solutions of various amines.

摘要： Coating compositions are provided which include a polysiloxane comprising at least one reactive functional group and at least one material comprising at least one reactive functional group. Also provided are multi-layer composite coatings formed from a basecoat deposited from a pigmented coating composition and a topcoat applied over the basecoat, the topcoat deposited from the aforementioned coating composition. A method for improving the scratch resistance of a coated substrate, as well as coated substrates also are provided. The compositions of the invention provide highly scratch resistant coatings, particularly highly scratch resistant color-plus-clearcoatings.

摘要： Carboxylated amide polymers and coating compositions containing same are especially useful for the coating of food and beverage containers. The carboxylated amide polymers are the reaction product of (1) a compound of formula: ##STR1## wherein A is the organic residue resulting from a ring opening reaction of a 1,2-epoxy group on a polyepoxide with ammonia or amine, R.sub.1 is hydrogen or a C.sub.1-4 alkyl group, R.sub.2 is a C.sub.2-12 alkylene group, x is 0 or 1, y is from 0 to 4, R.sub.3 is hydrogen or a C.sub.1-6 alkyl group, R.sub.4 is hydrogen or a C.sub.1-6 alkyl group, provided at least one R.sub.1, R.sub.3 or R.sub.4 is hydrogen, and n is at least 1.0 with (2) a cyclic anhydride of a dibasic carboxylic acid. The carboxylated amide polymers can be made water reducible by neutralizing the polymer with an organic or inorganic base and used in aqueous coating compositions.
