The rolling-element bearing unit according to the invention comprises an outer rolling-element bearing for rotationally bearing the outer component, a pivoting bearing carrying the outer rolling-element bearing and allowing adjustment of the angle of the outer rolling-element bearing, an angularly adjustable inner rolling-element bearing for rotationally bearing the inner component, and an eccentric which consist of an inner and an outer eccentric ring via which eccentric rings the centers of the two rolling-element bearings can be adjusted in relation to each other.

    • The disclosure concerns an anti-friction bearing between a rotating shaft and an external bushing. The bearing includes two axially spaced apart rows of bearing balls. A feed bushing is disposed in the space between the shaft and the external bushing and between the two rows of bearings. The feed bushing is open at the axial ends for dispensing lubricant to the rows of bearings at the axial ends of the feed bushing. The feed bushing holds lubricant, such as grease, in itself for being dispensed at the axial ends of the feed bushing. A porous elastic material may be disposed in the feed bushing for being impregnated with the lubricant. The feed bushing, and also the porous material if used, are elastic and resilient to permit deflection of the shaft with respect to the external bushing. Various shape and configuration feed bushings are disclosed. A lubricant recharging hole passes through the external bushing and communicates to the feed bushing.

    • A cage for lipless roller bearings, in which two rows of bearings are separated and supported by a support ring that is wedge- or cusp-shaped in cross-section at the longitudinally inward ends of the roller rows. The support ring surfaces facing the roller ends are so shaped (e.g. having a surface that is inclined to the roller end, or having a larger radius of curvature than the curved roller end, with the axes of curvature being placed inward of the roller axes) that there is defined a lubrication-receiving space between the support ring and the ends of the supported rollers which increases in width toward the radial interior of the bearing, to improve lubrication characteristics. Advantageously the cage may be used with a lipless self-aligning roller bearing, or a lipless conical or tapered roller bearing.
