    • Distributing disaster relief supplies, in one aspect, may include determining cross shipping of disaster relief supplies between points of distribution using one or more combinations of information. The information may include one or more of on-hand inventory of each point of distribution, in-transit inventory to each point of distribution, demand queue of disaster victims at each point of distribution, traveling time between supply staging area and points of distribution, traveling time between points of distribution, number of transportation vehicles available for cross shipping, minimum batch size for cross shipping, frequency of cross shipping, and point of distribution activation status, or combinations thereof.

    • A method and system for integrating job shop scheduling with discrete event simulation for manufacturing facilities are provided. In one aspect a simulator simulates discrete events of a facility using a job schedule generated by a scheduler. The simulator simulates the facility based on one or more local rules, one or more resources, and one or more parameters associated with said locals rules and said resources. The simulator further models said one or more parameters as random variables and using said random variables in its simulation of the facility. The scheduler receives feedback based on output from the simulating step. The feedback includes at least an instruction to the scheduler to include at least one of said one or more resource and to change said one or more parameters based on said modeling of said one or more parameters as random variables. The scheduler uses the feedback for generating an updated schedule.

    • Assessing resiliency of facility configuration strategies, in one aspect, may employ a mathematical model representation of facility configuration. Organization environment factors and one or more desired performance metrics associated with the organization may be determined. A technical model specification that defines the configuration of facilities of the organization may be received, and a mathematical model representation of the configuration may be created. The mathematical model representation is solved for steady-state characteristics, and one or more values may be estimated respectively of the desired performance metrics based on the steady-state characteristics. The resiliency may be measured based on the estimated one or more values.
