    • A mobile station is disclosed that includes a first antenna, at least one second antenna, and a receiver coupled to the first antenna. The receiver includes first control logic configured to generate a notification of the receiver being able to receive a reception frequency band and includes a transmitter coupled to the at least one second antenna and the receiver. The transmitter communicates radio frequency (RF) signals in a transmission frequency band over an RF transmit path to the at least one second antenna. The transmitter includes a tunable filter coupleable to the RF transmit path, and second control logic configured to adjust at least one characteristic of the tunable filter based at least in part on the notification. The adjustment is performed to reduce, when the tunable filter is coupled to the RF transmit path, interference caused by transmission in the transmission frequency band with reception in the reception frequency band.

It is determined (steps 2002; 2003) whether and at which frequency a higher harmonic of and/or an inter-modulation product with signals generated by the other component 610 causes interference in signals received by the receiver 650, based on information about signals generated by the other component 610, 611, 612. At least one characteristic of the receiver 650 is adjusted to diminish an influence by a determined interference.

    • Embodiments provide a method and apparatus for performing time division duplex communication, such as may be performed over a wireless communications network. In the embodiments a first circuit pathway is used to transmit a first radio frequency signal in a transmission mode and a second circuit pathway is used to receive a second radio frequency signal in a reception mode. In the reception mode, the first radio frequency signal is switched to an alternate circuit pathway. This may be performed by a radio frequency integrated circuit or by other control circuitry. Switching to an alternate circuit pathway reduces leakage of the first radio frequency signal into the second radio frequency signal.
